Description
Overview
Grek Table is a low table designed by Oscar & Gabriele Buratti in 2016, with a manly look and a strong industrial aesthetic. A central crevice cuts through the table top and serves as a magazine holder or container for objects. The emphasis is on a distinctive, audacious, contemporary beauty: a daring sculpture at the centre of the room.
Construction
Aluminium sheet and MDF are glued and pressed into a sandwich, and the table's 12 mm supporting frame is folded from it. The case is 14 mm MDF with a 30 mm front panel and an integrated pull-out drawer on BLUM push&pull runners, and adjustable plastic feet meet the floor. A veneered top comes in Charcoal-dyed Oak, Stone Oak® or multilaminar wood Striped Grey; a lacquered top is black ocean.

Story
A table top cut by a crevice
Grek Table, designed in 2016, is built around a central crevice in the top, which works as a magazine holder or container for objects. Oscar & Gabriele Buratti give it a manly look and a strong industrial aesthetic, and the table is meant as a daring sculpture at the centre of the room.
Veneered or lacquered
The table is made either veneered or lacquered. In the veneered version only the upper part of the supporting frame is veneered, with an acrylic painting finish, while the edge, bottom and drawer case are always in black ocean liquid painting. In the lacquered version the frame, edge, bottom and case are all black ocean liquid painting.
