Description

Overview

Flow is a rocking chair by Shibuleru for Living Divani, dated 2017 on the official page. The official page describes an ultra-light structure in gunmetal-painted steel with a covering in fabric, leather, hide or weaving.

Construction

The indoor version has a tubular steel frame of Ø25 mm coated in Gunmetal grey epoxy polyester powder, with plastic runners. The upholstery is non-removable and attached to the frame through special fittings, with a headrest in polyurethane foam covered with acrylic fibres built into it. The armrests are AISI 316 stainless steel sheet fixed with stainless steel screws, paired with black hide or finished in Gunmetal grey.

Specifications

The technical drawings give 98, 98 and 67 cm (axes not labelled on the drawing), with 39 and 53 cm marked on the front view. A separate headrest cushion is drawn at 43, 13 and 3.5 cm.

Story

An indoor and outdoor rocking chair

Living Divani lists Flow as a rocking chair available for both indoor and outdoor use, with a separate outdoor page that describes it for terraces and beaches. The studio behind it, Shibuleru, is credited on both pages with a 2017 date.

Woven alternative to the upholstered seat

Besides fabric, leather and hide, the technical sheet shows a woven version made with bobbin lace in the Readymade unPIZZO technique. The tubular weaving material is described as hypoallergenic, fully recyclable and eco-friendly, and the woven chair takes an extra headrest attached to a stainless steel counterweight.
