Story
The Villa Dollander chairs
Designed by Jean Prouvé in 1948, the Fauteuil Kangourou was first produced in a very limited number for a few clients. Roger and Marguerite Dollander ordered four, including a unique two-seater, for their Villa Dollander in Provence.

Reissued with the family
Vitra reissued the chair in collaboration with Catherine Prouvé, the designer's daughter, in a version limited to 150 pieces. The Vitra Design Museum's curator says the name shows Prouvé's sense of humour, because the seat, like a kangaroo, carries its weight on its hind legs.
