Description
Overview
Elefy JH34 by Jaime Hayon (2020) is a swivel chair with a return function: its polypropylene shell sits on a polished aluminium star base that is made with a return function. The shell is offered in five colours.
Construction
A polypropylene shell is mounted on a base of polished or powder-coated extruded aluminium that incorporates the return function. Plastic gliders are fitted to the feet.
Specifications
57.5 × 58 × 77 cm (W × D × H), seat at 47 cm; 8.9 kg; for indoors.
Story
The return function
The specifications of JH34 describe it as a swivel chair w. return function, and its Production Process says the aluminium swivel base is made with a return function. The page does not describe how the mechanism works.
Five shell colours
Its variant line shows Elefy JH34 with one shell colour and says the shell is available in five colours. A Shell Colours list repeats the five names, and the Base Finishes list gives a single finish, Polished Aluminum.
