Outdoor return
The Eames Aluminum Group Chairs Outdoor bring the suspended-seat construction back to exterior use. Herman Miller offers outdoor side and lounge chairs, plus a matching ottoman, using a fabric developed to withstand weather while retaining a flexible sitting surface.
Frame and suspension
A continuous length of Outdoor Weave is secured between curved aluminum side ribs and cross members. Powder-coated frame options and a four-star base complete the outdoor specification; the upper cross member also serves as a handle.
Story
Reengineered for exterior use
The original Aluminum Group concept began with a request for outdoor furniture for the Miller House. Herman Miller explains that the early covering did not withstand weather and the range moved indoors. The current outdoor version returns to that brief with new materials.
Outdoor Weave
The updated suspension combines monofilament polypropylene with four multifilament polypropylene yarns. It contains no PVC, is recyclable, and is designed to retain shape and colour over time.
