Story
Perriand's free-form console
Cassina's page says Charlotte Perriand designed the 'en forme libre' console in 1939, as an example of 'équipement de l'habitation' (domestic equipment), a central concept in her furniture designs.
Named after the Hôtel Doron
The page links the name to the Hôtel Doron in Méribel, France (1947), where the console served as a writing desk under a window. It adds that the piece was also used as a sideboard at the Alpine resort of Les Arcs.
