Overview
Doric is a wall light by Umberto Bellardi Ricci, inspired by the Doric columns of classical Greece. Lit, it seems to caress the wall with a gentle movement, as if the lamp were spiralling around itself. The wall light is described as novel and minimal.
Construction
The lamp is made from painted sheet metal in the Délabré Brass finish (T192) and uses two LED satin bulbs E27 3000K 8W, included.
Specifications
The reference model, code 0DRC01, measures 40 W x 14 D x 55 H cm.
Story
The golden spiral
Doric is novel and minimal. It draws on recent experiments by Umberto Bellardi Ricci with the golden spiral, also called divine proportion, and with curved, spiralling forms.
Light on both sides
Made from painted sheet metal, Doric emits a symmetrical glow that diffuses across the wall from both sides downward. The wall light therefore appears to wrap around itself, a movement clearly perceived when the lamp is seen from the side.
