Description

Overview

The Dita Secretaire is a small writing cabinet from Ligne Roset, designed by Pagnon & Pelhaître. A lacquered drop flap sits above two drawers (SECRETAIRE 1 ABATTANT + 2 TIROIRS).

Construction

The frame is 15 x 15 mm anodised aluminium uprights in a brushed bronze finish. They surround lacquered wood panels with Argile lacquer inside and a choice of 15 lacquer colours outside. The handle is injected zamak lacquered bronze, and the 30 mm feet continue the uprights with a black levelling foot.

Specifications

H 1,100 x W 1,080 x D 450 mm for the model shown with one flap and two drawers. A variant swaps one drawer for a hanging-file drawer. The cabinet is single-sided with a lacquered back and edges.

Story

From office system to home desk

Ligne Roset says Dita can recall the metal modular systems of the office world but distances itself from them: the panels are lacquered wood rather than sheet metal, and the profiles are discreet and blended into the volume. The Secretaire applies that language to a writing piece.

What the designers drew

Pagnon & Pelhaître pair the flap and drawers with a light handle designed to match the uprights, and with short feet that continue the frame. The result is a desk that closes to a plain lacquered front and, according to Ligne Roset, can be composed with other Dita elements.
