Story
A first saddle leather chair
EOOS describes Cuoio as its first experiment with thick leather: long slits cut into the surface and fastened together in the middle, which gave a curve suited to a backrest. The Vienna-based team took inspiration from the minimalism of fashion designer Helmut Lang.
Revised after ten years
Walter Knoll's press text records that EOOS revised the minimalist draft to mark the tenth anniversary of the chair, and cites the welted Viennese laced shoe as the model for the lacing under the seat.
