Overview
The Bob Armchair is a shell-shaped swivel armchair, model 230, designed by PearsonLloyd for Walter Knoll. The page presents it as a dining chair with the comfort of a padded armchair.
Construction
A moulded foam bucket seat carries a fixed seat cushion in cold cure foam under an outer wadding layer. The four-star swivel base is matt polished die-cast aluminium, with synthetic glides (stone, carpet) or felt glides (wooden floors).

Story
No right angles
Walter Knoll's press text for Bob starts from the remark that nature knows no right angle, and suggests this is why the wraparound shell looks so appealing and so modern again. It names the gently rising armrests, the supportive back section and the inviting seat cushion in the shell.
