Description

Overview

Bay Work Pod is a work pod designed for hybrid work and open floorplans, for both focused solo work and video calls. It is meant as a contrast to the open office and gives users a short-term focus space for heads-down work or calls.

Construction

The pod has rounded corners and a corrugated fabric exterior, with a durable PET acoustic wall. A skylight lets light in while keeping the user private, a discreet fan circulates air, and integrated lighting is optimized to flatter on camera. The door and ceiling come in clear or frosted glass, and the work surface is offered in seated or standing table height.

Specifications

The pod is 50 in deep and 83 in high.

Story

Between the physical and the virtual

Herman Miller introduced Bay Work Pod to fill the gap between the physical workplace and the virtual screen. It is meant to be far more than a booth for phone calls, offering an inclusive space for individual respite and focus.

Comfort and inclusion

The pod lets users choose their own ergonomic chair instead of perching on a stool or bench. The larger Pro model has a low entry threshold, a wider doorway and extra interior space that makes it easier to maneuver a wheelchair.
