Description

Overview

The Bao Armchair is a round swivel armchair from EOOS, made for Walter Knoll. Its voluptuous curves and the leather patchwork on the back, which resembles a leather ball, give it its character.

Construction

A steel frame carries seat and back of foam-moulded upholstery wrapped in polyester fiber, on webbing in the seat. The saddle leather on the back is stitched to follow the curve of the backrest. A swivel base turns through 360 degrees.

Specifications

  • Overall size: 82 x 76 x 71 cm (207-10)
  • Covers: all fabrics and a variety of leathers, in combination or in one material

Story

A sculpture with a stitched back

Walter Knoll calls the Bao Armchair an opulent sculpture, spacious and round. The saddle leather on the back is stitched in the manner of a baseball, so that it follows the curve of the backrest and holds its shape.

Fabric and leather

Classy saddle leather on the back sits beside natural fabric on the seat. The swivel armchair is available in all fabric and leather combinations, or completely covered in fabric or in leather.
