Overview
Banquette Mauritanie is a bench designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1959 for the Miferma mining company's homes in Cansado, Mauritania, and produced by Cassina in 2011.
Construction
Solid wood slats on a black painted metal structure; seat and back cushions are plywood padded with polyurethane foam, with removable upholstery in leather or fabric.

Story
Furniture for Cansado
The page says Perriand designed the bench in 1959 among furnishings for the homes of managers and staff of the Miferma mining company in Cansado, on the Atlantic coast of Mauritania.
