Description
Overview
Atlas Living System is a modular open-shelf system designed by Giampiero Tagliaferri for Minotti. It is available in various widths and configurations and combines shelves, niches and storage units, so that modules can be arranged side by side into longer compositions.
Construction
The uprights are drawn aluminium extrusions, 50 mm in section, polished and brushed, and each holds a metal counterweight. MDF panels of 10 mm are fixed to them, and the feet adjust. Shelves are MDF in 50 and 30 mm thicknesses with a Palisander veneer. Where an upper container is included, it holds a compartment with a flap door and a Bronzed mirror on its back panel. All modules come with a dimmable LED strip light.
Specifications
- Module depth and height: 45 cm deep, 221 cm high (modules A to H)
- Module widths: 134 cm (modules A to D) and 194 cm (modules E to H)
- Lighting: dimmable LED strip, remote or smart-home control
- FSC® certified wood components
Story
A system built from modules
The system develops into a variety of configurations with shelves, niches and storage units, and it is conceived both to store and to display objects. Modules can be arranged into multiple solutions that adapt to the space itself.
Closed elements and light
At the centre of the suspended closed elements an elongated, lozenge-shaped handle opens the storage spaces. Their interiors have a reflective bronze mirror effect that interacts with the open sections, which carry an electrified, dimmable lighting system.
