Description

Overview

Adell is a lounge chair designed by Lievore + Altherr Désile Park in 2020. Arper describes its low, rounded form through natural references and offers it for indoor and outdoor use. The family includes exposed, seat-pad and fully upholstered shells.

Construction

The shell uses 80% post-industrial recycled polypropylene and can be disassembled so its materials can be reused or recycled. Base choices include painted-steel four legs, a powder-coated steel sled and a four-leg plywood base with reconstituted oak finish.

Representative dimensions

Official drawing #6808 prints the values 87, 65.5 and 77.5 cm. The drawing does not label them. This version has a four-leg plywood base and an upholstered shell.

Story

A form drawn from nature

Arper introduces Adell through the tactile images of a pebble and mounded moss. Its restrained curves form a broad place of rest while the textured exposed shell recalls the concentric pattern of tree rings.

Sustainability in the structure

The recycled-polypropylene shell is central to the project rather than an added option. Arper also states that the chair can be completely disassembled, allowing each material to enter reuse or recycling routes. Seat and front cushions extend the exposed-shell configurations, including indoor and outdoor versions.
