Biography
Background
Vincent Tordjman works as a designer, a scenographer and a musician. His studies took in the Conservatoire de Metz, furniture design with Jean-Claude Maugirard at the Arts Déco de Paris, and philosophy at the Sorbonne. From 1996 to 1998 he worked with Didier Gomez.
Signature Style
Economy of means and open evocations, which leave room for the imagination while echoing references, mark his projects. On theatre and opera sets he shapes spaces in which light and sound serve the senses. He also produces music and sound design, such as the electronic music of his solo project Vicnet.
Notable Works
His stage work includes the opera "Flowers in the Mirror", which he created in China in 2010. In furniture, the Wide collection of 2013 adds sound to furniture; it was supported by the VIA and produced with the French company la Boîte Concept, which developed the acoustics. The Psi bridge grew out of a theatre set for Michel Didym's 'Divans'. For Ligne Roset he is credited with the Motus bed settee, the Wo vase and the Ennéa and Quantique tables.
Legacy
French actors such as Pierre Arditi, Romane Bohringer and Dominique Pinon have performed in his sets, which have toured in numerous countries.
