Biography
Background
Stefano Belingardi Clusoni was born in Milan in 1987. His studio's own website says he graduated with honors from the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio, directed by Mario Botta, and received the award for the best master's thesis project of the year, assigned by the SIA Architecture & Culture jury. While still a student he was selected by Casabella magazine for the exhibition "Young Architects Reach for the Sky" and presented his project at Cersaie in Bologna. He worked in international firms in Spain, Germany and China and collaborated with Daniel Libeskind and Miralles Tagliabue. In 2016, on returning to Milan, he founded Stefano Belingardi Architects after winning the competition for the new Telecom Italia headquarters.
Signature Style
The studio describes itself as internationally active in architecture, urban planning, interior and product design, with each project emerging from research and conceptual experimentation. Its stated approach is open, critical and provocative, free from trends and fashions, and set against repetition and standardization. The text says the projects express a strong structural identity, understood as the generative principle of form and space.
Notable Works
The studio's project list includes the Frame office headquarters in Via Bisceglie, Milan (2018-2020, competition first prize, completed, 10,000 m2), the Mikado Tower vision for a 90,000 m2 mixed-use building in Shenzhen (2013, competition, published in Casabella), and store concepts for Persol (2018) and Kiton (2019). A 1,500 m2 Poliform retail project in Milan is listed with the year 2026 and the status built. In product design, the site lists a Loai chair for Poliform, the Analysis chaise longue and the Karta stool. Poliform presents Loai, dated 2024, as his first product for the company.

In 2020 the studio was recognized among the best Italian architecture firms under 40 and featured in Platform magazine, with a presentation at the ADI Design Museum. In 2022 it was selected for the exhibition "15 Italian Architectures" at the Triennale di Milano, with publication in Area magazine. In 2023 he was invited to present his projects at the "Tall Buildings" conference held at the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, for his contribution to the renewal of Milan's skyline.
