Ron Arad
ロン・アラッド（Ron Arad）は1951年にテルアビブで生まれ、エルサレム芸術アカデミーと、ロンドンの英国建築協会（Architectural Association）で学びました。1981年にはキャロライン・ソーマンとともにデザイン・制作スタジオOne Offを共同設立し、1989年には建築・デザイン事務所Ron Arad Associatesを設立しました。その後、2008年にRon Arad Architectsも立ち上げています。

作風
スチール、アルミニウム、ポリアミドなどの素材を絶えず実験し、家具の形態と構造を根本から捉え直してきたことで、現代デザインと建築の最前線に立ち続けています。Moroso（モローゾ）は、彼を25年以上にわたり工業デザインと現代アートの境界で活動してきた建築家・デザイナーと紹介しています。

- Moroso向けのモジュール式シーティングDo-Lo-Rez（2008年）
- マドリードのHotel Puerta America（2005年）およびホロンのDesign Museum, Holon（2010年）
- Adjaye Associates、Gustafson Porter + Bowmanとともに手がけたロンドンのNational Holocaust Memorial（2017年）
- ソウルのVortext、テルアビブ大学のKesher Sculptureなどのパブリックアート
功績
2009年までRoyal College of Artのデザインプロダクト教授を務め、2011年 London Design Week Medalを受賞、2013年には**Royal Academician（王立アカデミー会員）**に選ばれました。展覧会には、ポンピドゥー・センターでのNo Discipline（2008〜2009年）、MoMAでの同展（2009年）、バービカン・アートギャラリーでのRestless（2010年）などがあります。
