Sponge process

The official sheet explains that polyurethane is foamed directly inside an oversized leather cover. During cooling, the cover is adapted to the foam and develops a different pattern of wrinkles on each chair. This variation makes the manufacturing process visible in the finished armchair. Edra presents those folds as different on every completed example.

Construction

Edra specifies a steel frame, polyurethane-foam padding, an integral-polyurethane-foam base and a non-removable cover. The SPG010 drawing records the single armchair variant and its seat height.

Available record

The saved Edra sources document Traag through Sponge but do not provide a broader biography or list of other works.
