Note Design Studio

Background

Note (design studio), written Note Design Studio on some product sheets, has been based in Stockholm since 2008. &Tradition names Johannes Carlström and Cristiano Pigazzini as its founders; the studio's own site lists them as founding partners. It works across architecture, interiors, product design, graphic design and art direction.

Signature Style

&Tradition says the studio shies away from one clear visual identity but puts functionality at the heart of every piece, imagining each design in a variety of settings and uses to find the right expression, proportions and materials.

Notable Works

• Alima trolley, side table and shelving for &Tradition, designed by Kristoffer Fagerström and Malin Engvall
• Selected clients named on the studio's site include Vibia, Fritz Hansen, Herman Miller, Moooi and Hermès

Legacy

The studio lists awards from 2011 to 2026, among them Frame Awards Designer of the Year in 2020 and the Seoul Living Design Award for Best Product in 2026.
