Background
Nicholai Wiig Hansen founded his own design studio in 1990, at the age of 26. His mother was a ceramic artist and potter and his father was the painter and sculptor Svend Wiig Hansen. He is now co-founder and Artistic Director of the Danish brand raawii.
Signature Style
He designs archetypal products with a twist. Proportions and colours are carefully considered and details are only added if they serve a functional or aesthetic purpose. Normann Copenhagen says he uses himself as the target group.
