James Van Vossel (1977) graduated with distinction as a furniture designer at VOMO/Thomas More University in Mechelen (BE). In 2006 he established the brand JAMES˙˙˙˙.
Practice
His range runs from toy design to fashion, and from product design for Modular Lighting Instruments (BE) and Theo Eyewear (BE) to furniture design for Drisag (BE). His creations arise from sketches that are translated into real-life models in his own designer's studio, and he often finds solutions through manual material interventions. He has also worked with other designers, and with enterprises from the young social cooperative 37 Graden (BE) to Thonet (DE).
