背景
Iskos-Berlin Designは、コペンハーゲンを拠点とするボリス・ベルリンとアレクセイ・イスコススによるパートナーシップで、工業デザイン、家具デザイン、グラフィックデザインを手がけています。同事務所は、Komplot Designでの23年間の活動を経て、2010年末に設立されました。ボリス・ベルリン（1953年生まれ、サンクトペテルブルク出身）は1987年にKomplot Designを共同設立しました。アレクセイ・イスコス（1965年生まれ、ハルキウ出身）は1996年にデンマーク・デザインスクールを卒業し、1999年から2010年までKomplotに在籍しました。
デザインの特徴
このデュオは、デザインを物語を紡ぐ芸術と捉えています。意味論、形態、素材性、テクノロジーを基盤に、明快で、驚きがあり、人々を笑顔にする物語を目指しています。新しいテクノロジーや素材を試みながら、素材そのものに語らせるアプローチを大切にしています。
代表作
Muutoのために、プラスチックと木質繊維の複合材によるシェルチェア、Fiber Chairシリーズ（2014年）をデザインしました。自身のポートフォリオには、5-Waves chair、Knit-Wit、JUST chair、Godotソファシリーズ、The Danish Chairなどがあります。
評価と所蔵
Iskos-BerlinおよびKomplotの作品は、MoMAやデンマーク・デザインミュージアム（Designmuseum Danmark）などのデザイン美術館に収蔵されており、このデュオは世界の一流メーカーと協業しています。
