Francesca Lanzavecchia studied Product Design at Politecnico di Milano. She and Hunn Wai later completed master's studies at Eindhoven's Design Academy, where they first met.
Collaborative practice
In 2010 they founded Lanzavecchia + Wai, a studio operating between Italy and Singapore. Their official account presents design as a combined practice of research, engineering, craft and storytelling.
Method
The studio treats projects as research journeys. It selects methods from different design fields, combines professional competences and develops them into products and concepts intended to open new perspectives.
Recognition
The studio's official chronology records distinctions from 2007 through 2021, including awards in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2021. Its exhibition history includes the Triennale Design Museum, London's Design Museum, Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, MAXXI, MAK Museum and Design Miami/Basel.
