作風
アルミニウム、ニッケルメッキのスチール、ガラスを用いたBar sous le Toitは、1927年のサロン・ドートンヌに出品され、ル・コルビュジエが彼女を自身のアトリエに招くきっかけとなりました。1930年代には木材や籐、そしてサヴォワ地方の伝統的な造形へと関心を広げ、1940年に始まった日本での滞在は、ミニマルで機能的なアプローチをさらに深めました。「住まいの技術は、生きる技術である」という彼女の言葉は、その思想を端的に表しています。
