Antonio Citterio
アントニオ・チッテリオは1950年、ミラノ近郊のメダに生まれました。1972年に自身のデザイン事務所を開設し、ミラノ工科大学で建築学の学位を取得しています。1987年から1996年まではテリー・ドワンと共同で、ヨーロッパと日本の建築物を手がけました。2000年にはパトリシア・ヴィエルとともに建築・インテリアデザインの事務所を設立し、現在のアントニオ・チッテリオ・パトリシア・ヴィエルとなっています。

デザインの特徴
チッテリオは、建築とインテリア、そしてインテリアとプロダクトデザインを一度も切り離して考えたことがありません。彼の家具は工業的な論理と心地よい触感を融合させたもので、ダイecast製アルミニウムなどによる精密で軽やかな構造に、ゆったりとしたアップholsteryを組み合わせるのが特徴です。

功績
1987年と1994年の2度にわたりコンパッソ・ドーロを受賞し、2008年には名誉王立産業デザイナーに任命されました。2006年から2016年まではメンドリジオ建築アカデミーで建築デザインを教えています。現在はMaxalto、Arclinea、Azucenaのアートディレクターを務めています。
