Collection Story
Origin
Twain is a Magis collection of low chairs with arms and an ottoman by Konstantin Grcic, with a version made in partnership with Hella Jongerius. The chair takes its inspiration from the classic Safari Chair and goes a step further, becoming a study in sustainability.
Design Language
Wood, leather and fabric are brought together: interlocking beech spindles in natural or black, held in tension by a strap and ratchet, with two leather strips as armrests and a seat and backrest in self-supporting fabric. The backrest tilts with the movement of the sitter. In the Hella Jongerius version a draped cover in two unique patterns is added.
Key Pieces
- Twain low chair, in eight combinations of frame finish, version and belt colour
- Twain low chair with Hella Jongerius, with a draped cover
