Collection Story
Origin
The page calls the Tufty-Time sofa series one of B&B Italia's most consolidated successes, an answer to the themes of modularity, comfort and removable covers. The page's Concept tab dates it to 2005 and quotes the designer, Patricia Urquiola: "I wanted to revisit capitonnè and Chesterfield types of sofas, while paying special attention to the new interpretations made in the 1960s and ‘70s, which I have great regard for."
Design Language
The modular system starts with an ottoman as the basic piece, joined by central, corner and terminal elements with a low or high armrest. The elements make traditional sofas, sofas with chaise longue, corner sofas and island elements with 360° seating. Cosy in its accentuated depth, it is described as a meeting place and a welcoming refuge.
