Collection Story
Origin
Trace is a pair of display cabinets from the Copenhagen studio Space Copenhagen, dated 2023 and made for &Tradition, which presents them as its latest collaboration with the studio. Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, who founded the studio, named the design after the habit of keeping small, sentimental objects, and the marks that such objects leave.
Design Language
Each cabinet is an oak frame with glass-paneled doors. The founders wanted it to serve as a frame for whatever its owner puts inside, not to compete with those objects. Brass hardware on oak, or bronzed brass on dark stained oak, supplies the detail.
