Stay

Origin

Stay is the GUBI collection by Space Copenhagen. GUBI's specification tables for the lounge chair, the sofa and the bed list the collection as "Stay" and the design year as 2015; the pages of all four pieces below carry the line "Design by Space Copenhagen".

Design Language

GUBI's wording for the lounge chair and the sofa is the same, and the bed text repeats it: a sculptural and organic shape that wraps around the person sitting and asks them to stay, "almost like a singular continuous pencil stroke wrapping a solid texture". The slipcover edition, described as a softer and more informal layer, is said to bring to life an idea embedded in the collection from the beginning.
