Collection Story
Origin
Pukka is the Ligne Roset collection designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the studio founded in 1980 by George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg, with offices in New York and Toronto. Ligne Roset's product text places the idea in the C&B period and Gaetano Pesce's UP50 collection of 1969, which it describes as a tribute to the sponge and the way it springs back to shape.
Design Language
The studio takes up that theme with a feminine, soft and organic design. Ligne Roset points to the stitching, the soft foams and the taut lines, which called for its stretchiest fabrics, among them the Gentle wool stretch velvet.
Key Pieces
The designer page lists the Pukka medium settee, armchair, small and large footstools, floor standard lamp, two rugs, suspended ceiling light, low tables and an occasional table.
