Collection Story
Origin
Palette is a series of multi-tiered tables by Jaime Hayon for &Tradition. The press release of 2015 introduces three tables, JH6, JH7 and JH8, and the product pages later show a coffee table, JH25, and a desk, JH9, in the series.
Design Language
Hayon says in the release that he has been fascinated by Alexander Calder, the originator of the mobile, and that he wanted the tables to give "a similar sense of equilibrium from any angle". Each table balances shapes at varying heights into a unified whole: the release names a painter's palette shape, a circle, a rounded rectangle, an elongated oval and a hexagon.
