Collection Story

Origin

Cuoio began as an EOOS trial with heavy leather: a flat piece slit and drawn together at the centre. The Vienna studio dates its project page for Walter Knoll to 2010.

Design Language

Only leather and steel are used. Per the press text, bringing the slits together lifts flat saddle leather into three dimensions on a flexible wire frame, with lacing under the seat and no upholstery.

Key Pieces

  • Cuoio Chair, with and without armrests
  • Cuoio Lounge Chair, with footstool, comfort cushion and sheepskin rug
