Collection Story
Origin
Canaletto is a modular range by Mauro Lipparini for Ligne Roset. Lipparini says its modular nature opens up possibilities for containing and also for displaying, and that open or closed modules with staggered vertical separations give a graphic lightness that recalls the paintings of the view painter Canaletto.
Design Language
The closed chests take their character from the profiling of the flap doors and drawers, with profiled uprights and projecting handles in Canaletto walnut. Lipparini says these finishes turn a furniture system into a jewel and draw attention to the manufacturing details. He describes Canaletto as a tranquil design response to the practical demands of modern life, in which putting together a composition is no longer a puzzle of choices between function and aesthetics.
Key Pieces
