Canaletto Composition

Overview

The Canaletto Composition is a modular audio-video and storage system by Mauro Lipparini for Ligne Roset. It combines lacquer with solid wood, and a dark walnut lip serves as the handle of the doors.

Construction

Compositions are created by juxtaposing elements: open or closed modules, shelving, chests with flap doors and drawers. The double doors have a single handle, on the right-hand side, and the left-hand door opens by a finger-hold on its edge once the right-hand door is open. The doors have a vertical solid walnut lip on both the left and the right, and the shelves are perforated on the sides.

Doors and shelving

Mauro Lipparini's Canaletto is a modular range that offers solutions for hi-fi and storage, plus shelving and a sideboard. The double doors carry one handle on the right-hand side, and the doors have a vertical solid walnut lip on both the left and the right.

Lacquer and walnut

Elements may be plain plomb or perle lacquer, or those two lacquers combined with dark walnut veneer. Argile lacquer is always combined with dark walnut, and the interiors of chests in argile lacquer are always plomb lacquer.
