Collection Story
Origin
Normann Copenhagen presented Bubba, Yuchen Wu's lighting collection, in a press release of July 2023. Its starting point is the multifaceted cluster that soap bubbles form when they float into each other.
Design Language
Each shade is built from bubbles of varying sizes joined in an asymmetrical yet balanced composition, so the outline changes with the viewpoint. Wu describes the task as making a composition of seemingly random bubbles while keeping a well-proportioned, harmonious silhouette. The matte etched opal glass is translucent and gives a uniform light.
