Collection Story
Origin
Kartell presents AALAND as an upholstered furniture collection by Patricia Urquiola. Its official product text takes the archipelago as the starting image: neighbouring islands create cohesion in a fluid space, and the collection translates that idea into seats that can meet and merge.
Design Language
AALAND uses soft, organic forms and moves beyond traditional upholstery through free, unexpected and multifunctional shapes. The seats are conceived in compact sizes so that they can be moved and rearranged, creating different opportunities for comfort and togetherness.
Key Pieces
The official AALAND filter lists five pieces: AALAND Armchair Tissue Bouclé New Stretch, AALAND Pouf Tissue Bouclé New Stretch, AALAND Armchair Tissue Gorgone, AALAND Sofa Tissue Gorgone and AALAND Sofa Tissue Bouclé New Stretch. The same collection description also identifies large and small pouffes and three AALAND rug sizes as part of its wider landscape.
