Description
Overview
Rodolfo Dordoni gave Minotti West, a system in which, the official page says, a faceting effect enlivens and interrupts cubism. Two looks exist: one with a backrest in saddle hide, the other a more conventional version with padded back and arm. The chaise longue is made in a pentagonal or a hexagonal form.

Construction
Solid wood forms the structure, with elastic webbing suspension, a foam-coated seat structure and arms and backs quilted with goose down. The underside carries four brushed, polished extruded aluminium strips (47 x 6 mm) in Brandy, over adjustable black feet 45 mm high. Reversible seat cushions pair goose down in channels with a layer of memory foam. In fabric and leather alike, covers are completely removable.
Specifications
Sofa 228 cm with an 85 cm seat cushion: 228 cm wide, 114 cm deep and 79 cm high on the technical sheet.
Story
Facets against cubes
The page says the faceting effect breaks the cubism that separates West from the clichés of modern design, and that the system suits a broad range of contemporary and traditional layouts. It cites the pentagonal or hexagonal chaise longue and the elements with striking saddle-hide backrests as moments of pure creativity.

Fine tailoring
Minotti credits its design knowledge and the savoir-faire of fine tailoring. It describes cushions with piping that defines their profile, an aluminium strip skimming the floor in polished Brandy, and saddle hide in a range of new colours.
