Overview

The Weekday Bench by Hannes & Fritz for HAY is an outdoor bench in solid pine, inspired by the designers' impromptu solution to a lack of seating at a dinner party. It combines a solid, robust presence with softly rounded joints.

Construction

The bench has the same simple construction as the classic picnic bench and is made of strong, durable pine planks with a water-based, weather-resistant surface treatment. It is designed as a knock-down solution with pre-assembled leg sections and seat.

From a dinner party to a bench

Hannes & Fritz's Weekday Bench was inspired by their impromptu solution to a lack of seating at a dinner party. It keeps the original idea of bringing people together, and its solid, robust presence and softly rounded joints convey warmth and familiarity that invite shared dining.

The bench follows the construction of the classic picnic bench and is made of strong, durable pine planks that will patinate beautifully. The water-based, weather-resistant surface treatment makes it suitable for outside use, and seat cushions in selected textiles can be added for comfort.
