Description
Overview
Volage Bed is Philippe Starck's 2012 bed for Cassina. Its aluminium perimeter frame is covered in fabric or leather, and the headboard may align with the bed or extend beyond it.

Construction
The sheet specifies a natural-oxidised extruded-aluminium structure, polished die-cast feet and a poplar-plywood headboard padded with polyurethane.
Specifications
- L26 01 14: 160 × 210 cm overall, with a 110 cm headboard height
Story
A bed with adjustable visual scale
The official text describes low and high headboards, including broader arrangements prepared for reading lamps. That range lets the padded plane remain flush with the bed or become a larger architectural element.
Surface and frame
Fabric or leather follows the perimeter and headboard, while narrow polished supports keep the upholstered mass clear of the floor.
