Vespero Bedstead

Overview

The Vespero is a fixed bed base made for Poltrona Frau mattresses. It adjusts rigidity under the lower back and gives high absorbency under the shoulders.

Construction

• Frame: panels of beech plywood with a varnished surface
• Slats: flexible beech plywood, steam-curved and steam-pressed, so that the mattress can always breathe
• Joints: plastic suspension joints
• Adjustment: the slat used for adjusting the rigidity is engraved with the settings
• Mark: the footboard-side end slat carries an engraved logo

An elastic base for rest

The right regulation of an elastic base determines how well a bed rests the sleeper, and the Vespero bed base is built around that adjustment. Under the lower back its rigidity can be set, with the settings engraved on the slat. Under the shoulders it offers high absorbency.

Slats that let the mattress breathe

Steam shapes the flexible beech plywood slats. They keep the mattress breathing at all times, and the end slat on the footboard side carries the engraved logo.
