Vekst Lamp

Overview

Vekst Lamp Large EU Black is a dimmable pendant from Normann Copenhagen, designed by Simon Legald. Slender, branch-like arms grow into the shape of the crown of a tree, and the Large version has 24 of them. The lamp weighs 22 kg.

Construction

The arms are powder-coated steel in black, and each arm ends in a bulb surrounded by a sphere of etched opal glass. Suspension is a black textile cord of 4 m plus a steel wire of 4 m, finished with a ceiling canopy in black powder-coated steel. The 24 G4 LED bulbs are included.

Ø88 x H81 cm (Vekst Lamp Large EU Black, 608281). G4 sockets, 14.4 W at most; the EU version is class II with IP20 and runs on a 220-240 V supply.

Branches of a tree

Vekst is characterized by slender arms that grow like branches into the shape of the crown of a tree. The influence of nature is evident in the design language, and the arms are made of powder-coated steel.

Buds of etched opal glass

Each branch carries a bulb inside a sphere of etched opal glass, a detail reminiscent of newly developing shoots at the tip of a stem. The bud-like shades are lit by LED bulbs. Simon Legald designed Vekst in 2023, and the web of branches takes on a new expression depending on the angle from which it is admired.
