Description
Overview
Twiggy Bed is Rodolfo Dordoni's design for the night area, built on the same tailoring details as the Twiggy seats. It combines the aesthetics of the 1970s with refined, elegant upholstery and sets the rigorous volumes of the platform and headboard on an aluminium base.
Construction
The platform frame is made of very thick plywood as one piece and holds multiple pocket springs under a CF-free polyurethane foam surface. The plywood headboard, padded with variable-density polyurethane foam, is upholstered in fabric or leather with embroidered quilting, and comes in two heights. The base is formed of 8 mm aluminium blades, brushed semi-polished or varnished in Black Coffee.
Specifications
- Base: semi-curved aluminium blades, 8 mm
- Glides: protective polyethylene in pewter or Black Coffee
- Upholstery: all fabric or all leather, completely removable
- Headboard: available in two heights
Story
The Twiggy tailoring, moved to the bedroom
Twiggy Bed carries the sophisticated sartorial taste of the Twiggy seats into the night area, with the same tailoring details. It expresses Minotti’s mastery of particularly refined crafting techniques. Like the seats, the bed combines the aesthetics of the 1970s with refined, elegant upholstery.
Volumes on an iconic base
The rigorous volumes of the platform and the headboard sit on a base in brushed aluminium or Black Coffee colour. The stitching on the headboard reveals the depth of the brand's manufacturing know-how, and the platform echoes the couture aesthetic of the headboard. The bed stands for an ideal of timeless beauty that also adds a refined, contemporary flair to the night area.
