Stacked-disc base
The Tavolo a Dischi Dining Table was designed by Carlo De Carli in 1963. GUBI constructs the base from 30 mm birch plywood discs of varying diameters stacked around a concealed metal core. The plywood is FSC Mix certified and comes from responsible sources.
Top and sizes
A walnut veneer tabletop sits above the curved base, whose lower edge is protected by a burnished brass-toned steel band. GUBI offers circular tops in 1200 mm and 1500 mm diameters, with seating for up to six people.
Story
A round table for exchange
GUBI describes De Carli's table as a meeting point as well as a practical dining surface. The circular plan supports his view of the table as a place for encounter and conversation.
Structural expression
The visible stack of progressively sized discs forms the pedestal's curve, while the metal core is concealed. The 1963 design combines this base with a walnut veneer top and protective steel band.
