Description

Overview

Sunray is an outdoor seating system by Rodolfo Dordoni for Minotti. It is inspired by the wish to create situations of intimacy and relaxation, in line with an open-air living that echoes the comfort and beauty of indoor furnishing.

Construction

  • Frame: solid teak, 60 mm thick, natural finish and kiln-dried; assembled at 45° with finger joints and dowel pins
  • Structure: tubular stainless steel varnished Bronze, wrapped in woven polypropylene fibre (a 24x7 mm strip)
  • Cushions: high-resilience polyurethane foam with a water-repellent fibre, covered in treated polyester
  • Glides: Bronze-coloured protective polyethylene

Specifications

  • 2 colours of woven fibre
  • Completely removable cushion covers

Story

Horizontal teak, curved cord

Sunray juxtaposes different shapes and materials. The airy natural teak surface defines its horizontal line, while the curved backrest with interwoven cords gives it a dynamic allure.

Built to lead outdoors

Sunray is designed to play a leading role in outdoor settings. Its teak top has a sloping section and sits on a polished Bronze metal structure; it is tapered on the edges and holds the mattress-like cushioning of the seat. The backrest has a tubular profile covered in flat cord, which draws a linear weave.
