Overview

The Nemschoff Steps Lounge System, designed by Brian Kane, is built from modular seating that runs from single seats to serpentine runs. Placed in healthcare lobbies and waiting areas, it offers comfortable seats and also marks out space and guides how visitors move.

Construction

Seating modules have spring seat construction and a clean-out design, with removable covers and replaceable components. The modules stand on powder-coated metal legs with adjustable 1 1/4 in glides and are finished with a healthcare wood finish.

Specifications

The mid-back straight seat without arms measures 32 x 30.5 x 33 in (W x D x H) (Steps Mid Back Straight Seat without Arms).

Story

Shaping the waiting area

Steps Lounge System is modular lounge seating for healthcare lobbies and waiting areas. Pieces link from one seat into a serpentine line, so the layout can mark out space and steer visitor flow while people sit comfortably.

Support for waiting and working

Integrated power and a range of tables, among them tablet, in-line and occasional tables, extend the system for both waiting and working. The tables give a surface for laptops, phones or a drink, and the outlets keep devices charged.
