Description
Flexible support
Standway is Francesco Binfaré's sofa with Edra's Smart Cushion system. Its backrests and armrests can be moulded freely and remain stable in the chosen position, allowing the support to be adjusted around the sitter.
Configurations and comfort
Edra documents two- and three-seat sofas and large-chaise configurations with different seating depths. The seat combines polyurethane foam, Gellyfoam and synthetic wadding, while the cushions contain goose down. Its upholstery is technically removable, and the base stands on round wooden feet.
Story
A sofa that adapts
Edra presents Standway as a soft, elegant and universal sofa. The Smart Cushion mechanism lets backrests and armrests bend into different positions, shifting the relationship between upright support and relaxed seating.
Technical construction
Edra specifies steel for the frame and mechanisms. A poplar-plywood tray forms the base; polyurethane foam and Gellyfoam build the padding, and round wooden feet come in four colours. The upholstery is technically removable.
