Description

Adjustable comfort

Standalto is a sofa by Francesco Binfaré. Its Smart Cushion backrests and armrests can be shaped with light pressure while the user remains seated. Edra states that the structure is suspended 15 cm above the floor.

Construction

The official sheet specifies a steel structure and mechanisms, a poplar-plywood base tray, polyurethane foam, Gellyfoam, synthetic wadding and goose-down stuffing. The feet are chromed steel and the upholstery is technically removable.

STLDV2 size

The STLDV2 drawing gives 225–255 × 100–115 × 90 cm, with a 46 cm seat height. The two horizontal ranges change with the cushion positions.

Story

Movement within the sofa

Standalto retains the Smart Cushion as its central element. Backrests and armrests respond to light pressure, changing both support and outline while the user remains seated.

An elevated proportion

Edra lifts the structure 15 cm above the floor. The official sheet combines that raised base with multiple terminal, corner, armchair and pouf elements for linear, corner and free-plan compositions.
