Description
Overview
The 2022 Square settee by Jonathan Olivares carries configurator code SQ1078 and technical code 078. It extends the Square seating idea into a compact two-place format.
Construction
Several polyurethane densities form the seat and backrest above a timber core, with polyester fibre between foam and cover. A tubular steel sled base receives a powder-coated finish, with black polypropylene glides below. The cover is removable.
Options
The base is offered in Pearl White, Sand or Mud. A two-colour upholstery version is also available.
Story
From textile square to settee
Jonathan Olivares developed Square from the basic unit found in woven warp and weft. The settee enlarges that geometric language into a wider upholstered body while keeping the back, seat and supporting frame visually distinct.
Created for a textile setting
The Square project originated for Kvadrat's New York flagship showroom during Olivares' collaboration with the Danish textile manufacturer. Moroso introduced the design in 2022 as both a settee and a small armchair.
