Description

Overview

The Soleva sofa pairs Vincent Van Duysen's continuous tubular framework with broad upholstered volumes. Molteni&C offers two- and three-seat formats; the SDI25 version spans 250 cm across its front view.

Structure

Powder-coated aluminium forms the exterior frame. Vertical recycled marine-plywood panels, protected with an EVA polyurethane coating, articulate the back, while differentiated-density polyurethane and water-repellent polyester fibre build the removable cushions.

SDI25 dimensions

The manufacturer drawing prints 250, 90.2 and 88 cm for SDI25. Its largest vertical value carries no written axis label.

Story

Rhythm of sunlight

Molteni&C explains that Soleva takes its name from the movement of the sun. In the sofa, Van Duysen turns that reference into a long horizontal composition where slender rails and softened contours alternate across a two- or three-seat span.

Openness and presence

The sofa is intended to feel substantial without appearing heavy. Its open framework, repeated rear panels and separated cushion volumes create intervals through the elevation, giving the extended form a measured architectural cadence.
